171214-N-DW433-052 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Dec. 14, 2017) – A member of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), attached to JS Uraga (MST 463), arranges Japanese kadomatsu in front of the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) as part of an annual gift exchange to strengthen the Pacific alliance between the JMSDF and the U.S. Navy. Blue Ridge is in an extensive maintenance period in order to modernize the ship to continue to serve as a robust communications platform in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
