The "Front Porch" floatation device is unfolded and inflated by Pararescuemen and Combat Rescue Officers from the 103rd Rescue Squadron of the New York Air National Guard's 106th Rescue Wing following a jump from the back of a C-17 flown by the Hawaii Air National Guard's 154th Wing in the waters off Marine Corps Base Hawaii on March 5, 2017.The Airmen were testing an an inflatable device known as the "Front Porch" intended to be mated to the Orion spacecraft, and used to support astronauts who have made a water landing following a flight.
