Rear Adm. Chaiyot Sundaranaga, commander of Royal Thai Navy Frigate Squadron Two, explains how the Thai military utilizes a forward resuscitative surgical system to rapidly assess and stabilize patients in the field to Capt. David Welch, right, commander of Task Group 73.1. U.S. and Royal Thai sailors and Marines utilized the surgical system during an amphibious landing exercise conducted at Sattahip Navy Base for Cooperation Afloat and Readiness Training Thailand 2011. CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance force readiness.
