Royal Thai Navy Rear Adm. Chaiyot Sundaranaga, commander of Frigate Squadron 2, and Capt. David Welch, commander of Task Group 73.1, share a laugh before the dedication for a Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Thailand 2011 engineering project. Service members from both countries built an open-air performance and recess facility for Wat Koh Primary School. The school previously lacked any foul-weather shelter for outdoor events. CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance force readiness.
