170109-N-PJ969-0001 SAN DIEGO, (Jan. 9, 2017) At 99 years old, retired Chief Photographer's Mate Joe Renteria is possibly the oldest living Navy photographer. Renteria was the lead staff photographer for Adm. Bill "Bull" Halsey during World War Two, from Pearl Harbor till the surrender of Japan. Renteria regularly briefed Halsey with aerial intelligence photographs, which directly influenced Halsey's decision making in the Pacific.
