1st. Lt. Sarah Herrero, an Army advocate at the All-American Bowl, talks to members of the All-American color guard at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, Jan. 3, 2018. Herrero, a former All-American in the color guard and San Antonio, Texas, native, has returned to the Bowl for eight years to impart her knowledge to the students. “The biggest aspect that sets this All-Star marching band apart against other high caliber bands is the Army mentorship aspect of it,” said Herrero. “It has such a deeper impact in the experience they have.”
