Tibor Rubin, a Holocaust survivor, joined the Army to show his appreciation for the United States’ role in the liberation of his concentration camp. He was captured while serving in Korea and spent 30 months as a prisoner of war. Rubin was later awarded the Medal of Honor and is one of 85 living Medal of Honor recipients.
