ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 17, 2018) -- Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Kris Pettera, from Hanover, Illinois, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) air department, acts as a safety observer as a MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter is transported from the ship's flight deck to the hangar bay.
