MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – A U.S. Marines with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion and Soldiers with the Western Army Infantry Regiment, Japan Ground Self Defense Force, jump out of a CH-53 Super Stallion into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton during helocast training during exercise Iron Fist 2018, Jan. 18. Exercise Iron Fist brings together U.S. Marines and Soldiers from the JGSDF to improve their bilateral planning, communicating, and conducting of combined amphibious operations.
