Rigged, inspected and ready for airborne insertion by SSG Giovani Gomez, extraction chute NCOIC, and the crew at the heavy drop facility at Aviano Air Base. This M-777 Howitzer package, weighing in at 19,000 pounds, is about to be loaded onto a C-130 Hercules, flown over the Alps from Italy and dropped onto Bunker Drop Zone in Germany where it will be quickly placed into action by 173d Airborne Brigade’s 4/319 AFAR in support of Scouts from the 1/91 Cavalry.
