For a “warriors dinner” after the completion of a counterinsurgency training course, a Romanian Marine prepares the fish he will use for a local dish, ciorba de peste, a sour fish soup from the Danube Delta. As the U.S. Marines and Romanian Marines and soldiers trained together, lived, relaxed, and ate together at BTA, they oftentimes learned that they were not so different, despite their different backgrounds.
