YOKOSUKA, Japan (Jan. 21, 2018) Capt. Jeffrey Kim, Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) watches as the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) leaves Dry Dock 6 at Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka. Blue Ridge is in an extensive maintenance period in order to modernize the ship to continue to serve as a robust communications platform in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and 27,000 military and civilian personnel.
