Ollie Lewis presented the White “P” Personnel Readiness plaque to the nuclear-powered, Los Angeles class, fast-attack submarine, USS Pittsburgh (SSN 720), Commanding Officer, Cmdr. Jason Deichler, Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 onboard Submarine Base New London, Groton, Conn. The award was given to Pittsburgh for the crew’s outstanding personnel readiness. The White “P” Personnel Readiness award is part of the Battle Efficiency Competition that’s conducted to strengthen and evaluate both command and overall force warfighting readiness and to recognize outstanding command performance during a year-long evaluation.
