U.S. Marine Cpl. Victor Longoria with Regimental Combat Team 5, listens to instructions on how to operate the Vallon Combat Medal Detector during a class on improvised explosive devices, as a part of Enhanced Mojave Viper May 25, at Marine Air-Ground Training Center Twentynine Palms, Calif. The Marines are conducting counter IED training in preparation for combat logistics patrols during RCT-5's upcoming deployment to Helmand province, Afghanistan. As the first regimental combat team to participate in EMV, RCT-5 will fine tune its command and control capabilities during this combined arms exercise.
