Staff Sgt. Brandan Ressler and Staff Sgt. Briana Ford, of the North Dakota National Guard’s 219th Security Forces Squadron, speak with Mike Neva, a homeowner in one of the evacuated areas, to ensure that he is aware of the evacuation. Ressler and Ford are two of about 50 Air Guard members doing presence patrols through the nine evacuated areas in Minot, N.D., June 2, 2011. The primary reason for the patrols is to provide a military presence in these areas to deter theft and vandalism, thereby protecting the homeowners that were required to leave. (Photo by Spc.
