Chief Pety Officer Scott Brown, construction mechanic, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 26, briefs Seabees from NMCB 26 and NMCB 1 on range safety procedures prior to crew serve weapons familiarization training at the Tarnak Weapons Range in Kandahar. NMCB 1, from Gulfport, Miss., is relieving NMCB 26, a reserve battalion from Harrison, Mich., in June as one of two Seabee battalions deployed to Afghanistan under Task Force Overlord. The 25th Naval Construction Regiment, from Gulfport, Miss., is the command and control element for Task Force Overlord, which is responsible for construction engineering and engineering support in southern, southwestern and western Afghanistan.
