GROTON, Conn. - Retired Navy veteran Scott Dunn, and his granddaughter Ashlyn, show off their prize after competing in a fishing derby held at the Naval Submarine Base New London (SUBASE) Rock Lake, July 8. The pair won first place after catching five fish with whopping total of 46 inches. The contest winners were chosen based on longest fish caught as well as overall total length of fish caught during the course of the 80 min. competition. Although some were not as lucky as others, it was a fun day for everyone, and there was plenty of sunshine to go around for all 69 contestants. U.S Navy photo by Lt. j.g. Daniel Mongiove.
