Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Sarah Legere, a corpsman with the General Surgery Clinic at Naval Hospital Pensacola, proudly displays the DAISY Award pin she earned at a ceremony Feb. 2 at NHP. The DAISY Award celebrates nurses who provide extraordinary compassionate and skillful care every day. NHP expanded the award to include corpsmen, who work side by side with nurses and doctors to provide care to patients. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System and award is a national program to recognize exceptional nurses.
