Operation Golden Cargo gets underway as the first convoy leaves Blue Grass Army Depot, Ky., headed to Crane Naval Base, Ind., June 7. Operation Golden Cargo is an annual military exercise consisting of a series of extended combat training missions sponsored by the Joint Munitions Command. Army Reserve and National Guard soldiers and service members from the active component receive realistic training by transporting large amounts of munitions across the country.
