A National Guardsman article reports the Air National Guard training and education center’s 10th anniversary and dedication ceremony June 30, 1978, for retired Air Force Maj. Gen. I.G. Brown. General Brown was the 1st Director of the Air National Guard. He was instrumental in founding an NCO academy for the Air Guard that expanded in professional military education and professional continuing education for thousands of enlisted and officers.
