180224-N-FN963-0051 PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 24, 2018) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Mariah Blowe, left, from Pittsburgh, and Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Ian Johnson, from Philadelphia, signal an MH-60R Sea Hawk, assigned to the “Scorpions” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 49, to launch from the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104). Sterett is on a scheduled deployment to conduct operations in the Indo-Pacific region. It will also support the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) in order to advance U.S. Pacific Fleet’s Up-Gunned ESG concept and will train with forward-deployed amphibious ships across all mission areas.
