Army Sgt. Alfredo Varela, a member of the Colorado National Guard Biathlon team, competes in the individual pursuit event at the Chief National Guard Bureau Biathlon Championships in Soldier Hollow, Utah, on Feb. 26, 2018. During the pursuit event the biathletes ski five laps for a total of 12.5 kilometres (7.8 mi) for men and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) for women.
