Lt. Col. Thomas Loper, C-5 pilot, pilots a C-5M Super Galaxy for a mission June 5. The plane was flown on the Air Force's first direct delivery airlift mission through the Arctic Circle from Dover Air Force Base, Del., to Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan. Loper is the 436th Airlift Wing director of staff at Dover AFB.
