Kiyokazu Ota, consulate-general of Japan in Seattle, speaks about American and Japanese relations aboard the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force training squadron ship JS Kashima (TV 3508) during a reception hosted by Rear Adm. Umio Otsuka, commander of Japan Training Squadron. Leadership from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and Naval Station Everett also attended the reception. Kashima made a port visit in Seattle to acknowledge AmericaÕs assistance in rescue and recovery efforts following the earthquake and tsunami which struck the Tohoku region in March.
