Sixty-seven mushers kicked off the 46th Annual Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race with an 11-mile ceremonial start through Anchorage, Alaska, March 3, 2018. “The Last Great Race on Earth” throws 1,000 miles of Alaska’s jagged mountain ranges, frozen rivers, dense forests, desolate tundra and miles of windswept coast at the mushers and their dog teams as they set their eyes on the finish line in Nome, on the Bering Sea coast.
