Lance Cpl. Carlos M. Carranza is a field wireman with Marine Corps Communications Squadron 28, deployed out of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C. Carranza, a native of Bell Gardens, Calif., is currently deployed to Camp Dwyer, Afghanistan, with 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward). Carranza said he joined the Marine Corps to start his life and do something on his own.
