180227-N-VU574-1011 (February 27, 2018) SAN DIEGO Foreign officers from the Army War College salute the national ensign as they board USS Fort Worth (LCS 3). Fort Worth was one of several commands the visitors toured as part of a day-long U.S. Navy familiarization visit. Fort Worth is a Freedom-variant littoral combat ship and is designed to be fast, agile, shallow draft, and mission-focused with the ability to operate in littorals and open ocean.
