Over 300 students from 14 high schools traveled to from as far as 3 hours away to compete in the Patriot Classic Drill Competition held at Independence High School, Charlotte, N.C., March 10, 2018. Cadets were judged by volunteers from the North Carolina Air and Army National Guard. The annual drill competition is designed to give cadets a chance to gain drill experience, and the event is a qualifying event where winners can progress to regional and state drill competitions.
