ANSBACH, Germany- Soldiers from the 2-227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade out of Fort Hood Texas conduct slope landing training in a HH-60 MEDEVAC helicopter, March 15, 2018, at Katterbach Army Airfield in Ansbach, Bavaria, Germany. Helicopter pilots are often called upon to land on unprepared and sloping terrain. Indeed it is sometimes very difficult to determine the existence of a slope until the moment of landing. Therefore, as a helicopter pilot, you must be capable of landing your aircraft on terrain that is sloping or has a doubtful surface. (U.S. Army photo by Charles Rosemond)
