Sean MacFarland, uses a charcoal pencil to rub a nameplate of a “Ready First” soldier who was killed in combat during the brigade’s deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom IV, during a memorial ceremony at the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Ready First 1st Armored Division headquarters, June 24. The memorial ceremony, hosted by Ready First, was in honor of soldiers who were killed in combat during Operation Iraqi Freedom IV, guests of the ceremony included two Gold Star families and family members of soldiers who served with the Ready First Combat Team.
