A CH-47F Chinook from 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, right and a UH-60 Black Hawk from 1st Air Cavalry Brigade conducts a mission over northern Afghanistan. The Chinook is capable of completing various types of missions in Afghanistan. The improved cargo helicopter can carry payloads of more than 21,00lbs, provide fire support, air defense, transportation of ground forces, and battle critical cargo. The UH-60 Black Hawk can complete a wide range of missions, from troop transportation, electronic warfare, aeromedical evacuation, to air assault missions.
