A World War II veteran is greeted at Chicago Midway Airport after returning from the National World War II Memorial in Washington. Veterans were flown on an Honor Flight to visit the memorial as part of Chicago Navy Week 2011. The flight was provided free of charge to WWII veterans specifically to visit the memorial. Navy Weeks are intended to show Americans the investment they have made in their Navy and increase awareness in cities that do not have a significant Navy presence.
