Gouty, 34, a Dayton, Ohio, native, now the vehicle commander for “Truck AA411” and platoon sergeant with Combat Logistics Patrol Security Platoon B, 24th Brigade Support Battalion, 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, is on his third combat deployment. His platoon is one of only two in the brigade who run resupply missions across the brigade’s area of responsibility – more than 400 miles from west to east.
