Col. Charles Jones, 149th Brigade Combat Team commander, and Command Sgt. Maj. Eric Shumacher, 149th Brigade Combat Team command sergeant major, case the brigade colors during a transfer of authority ceremony Monday at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, near Tikrit. After serving for as the garrison command cell for the past year, the 149th BCT relinquished control of the life support cell to the newly arrived 5th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment.
