    Great Lakes Region President of the Navy League of the United States Bobby Ferguson, left, Rear Adm. Tilghman Payne, commander of Navy Region Midwest; Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Rick D. West: U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk and Capt. John Malfitano, commanding officer of Naval Station Great Lakes, unveil a rededication plaque as part of the Centennial of Naval Station Great Lakes. More than 3.5 million civilians have transitioned to Sailors at Naval Station Great Lakes since July 1, 1911. Great Lakes is currently home to the Navy's only boot camp, Recruit Training Command.
