An MH-60S Sea Hawk takes off during fast rope training on the USS Wasp (LHD-1) while underway in the Pacific Ocean, March 22, 2018. Fast roping allows Marines to enter otherwise inaccessible locations via rope from a hovering aircraft. Marines with Force Reconnaissance Platoon, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, train regularly for quick, tactical raids of targets on both land and sea. As the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, the 31st MEU provides a flexible force ready to perform a wide range of military operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
