U.S. Navy F/A-18F Super Hornets with Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 102 arrive at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni, Japan, March 28, 2018. VFA-102 and VFA-27 relocated from Naval Air Facility Atsugi (NAFA) to MCAS Iwakuni. The relocation is in accordance with all Defense Policy Review Initiative requirements and supports the Navy's strategic vision for the Indo-Pacific, in which the most advanced units are forward deployed in order to support the United States' commitment to the defense of Japan and the security and stability of the region.
