Sgt. Ricardo M. Porter is a generator mechanic with Marine Wing Support Squadron 272, deployed out of Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C. Porter, a native of North Charleston, S.C., is currently deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, with 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward). Porter said he joined the Marine Corps to improve himself.
