MEDITERRANEAN SEA (March 29, 2018) Marine Corps Sgt. Austin Fitzke, a supply administrator assigned to Command Element, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit passes a box of cabbage aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) during a replenishment at sea (RAS) March 29, 2018. RAS supplies the necessary equipment, food, fuel and mail to the Marines and Sailors aboard the New York to be able to maintain readiness while deployed to U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
