Recruits from Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, perform leg sweeps during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program training session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, March 19. One of the purposes of MCMAP is to teach recruits how to defeat the enemy using hand-to-hand combat. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Delta Company is scheduled to graduate June 1.
