PACIFIC OCEAN (March 31, 2018) –Marine Corps. Cpl. Samuel D. Benavidas assigned to Lima Company, Battalion Landing Team 3/1, Scout Sniper Platoon, looks down the sight of an M40A6 during a simulated strait transit aboard Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) during an amphibious squadron and Marine expeditionary unit (MEU) integration (PMINT) exercise. PMINT is a training evolution between Essex Amphibious Group and 13th MEU, which allows Sailors and Marines to train as a cohesive unit in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
