The 23rd Secretary of the Army, Dr. Mark T. Esper, and the Deputy Chief of Staff, Army G-1, Lt. Gen. Thomas C. Seamands met with the senior leadership of the U.S. Army Human Resources Command, located at the Lt. Gen. Timothy J. Maude complex on Fort Knox, Ky. to discuss talent management, April 6, 2018. While there Esper was given a firsthand look at the officer assignment process from start to finish through the Assignment Interactive Module 2.0, or AIM 2. To meet the challenges of the future, the Army is moving from a plug and play type system where Soldiers are merely allocated and distributed based upon the needs of the Army to one where Soldiers and civilians are more deliberately managed and reassigned based upon their special skill sets.(U.S. Army photo by Master Sgt.
