These soldier memorials are in honor of Sgt. Nathan Beyers and Spc. Nicholas Newby, soldiers assigned to B Company, 145th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Cavalry Brigade deployed here. The soldiers were killed in action July 7 when their convoy was struck by an improvised explosive device outside Camp Victory, Iraq. Sgt. Beyers is survived by his wife, Vanessa Beyers; daughter, Ella Jo Beyers; father, Timothy Beyers; and mother, Natalie Bittner. Newby is survived by his mother, Theresa Hart and his father, Wayne Newby.
