Members of the North Carolina Army National Guard 440th Band play ceremonious music prior to the C-17 Acceptance Ceremony held at the North Carolina Air National Guard Base, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, April 7, 2018. The 145th Airlift Wing was selected to transition from the C-130 Hercules aircraft to the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft 18 months ago and the airframe will carry the units mission into the future. The first two aircraft of eight to come to the 145th Airlift Wing were previously assigned to active duty wings; Joint Base Charleston, S.C. and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
