Niemeier, Military Information Support Operations (MISO) Non Commissioned Officers with MISO Company, awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal whish is one of the prestigious medals awarded for acts of heroism that are non-combat related at Camp Upshur Quantico, VA on March 16, 2018. The Navy and Marine Corps Medal is the highest non-combat decoration awarded. Sergeant Niemeier was recognized for his quick actions, presence of mind, and selfless behavior which served as a driving force behind preventing a fellow Marine from taking his own life.
