PATROL BASE TALIBJAN, Helmand province, Afghanistan - Lance Cpl. Travis Moldovan (left) of North Canton, Ohio, clinches identification tags he wears in honor of a fallen Marine during a recent memorial ceremony. The ceremony was held to honor Spring Valley, Wis., native and close friend Cpl. Michael C. Nolen, who was killed in action while conducting combat operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Moldovan, 20, said he hopes to give the identification tags to Nolen’s younger brother when his unit returns to the United States. Both Moldovan, a Squad Automatic Weapon gunner, and Nolen, a team leader, belong to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 8.
