U.S. Marine Cpl. Samuel G. Potenti, a squad leader with Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, Battalion Landing Team, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, explains to Royal Australian air force Aircraft Woman Caitlan Rickard, with I Communications Combat Squadron, how to use a M252 81 mm mortar system during a training exercise on Townshend Island in support of Talisman Sabre 2011. TS11 demonstrates the United States and Australian commitment to their military alliance, and enhances stability and security throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The 31st MEU is the only continually forward-deployed MEU, and remains the nation's force-in-readiness in the Asia-Pacific region. (U.S Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Brennan O'Lowney)
