U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 10, 2018) A U.S. Marine with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), performs maintenance on a MV-22B Osprey, aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), April 10, 2018. The 26th MEU and Iwo Jima amphibious ready group are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
