EAST CHINA SEA (April 9, 2018) An F-35B Lightning II aircraft sits on the flight deck aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) as the guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104), left, and the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) are underway together as part of a coordinated formation with an amphibious transport dock ship from the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force. The bilateral navigational maneuvers were conducted as part of an enduring commitment of both sea services to increase U.S.-Japan naval interoperability.
