U.S. Army Reserve soldiers from the 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command step off a C-17 aircraft at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, to begin their mission in support of Operation Enduring Freedom July 7. The 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command is an Army Reserve unit headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. The 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command will assume command of Joint Sustainment Command-Afghanistan later this month. The unit will be in charge of sustainment operations for U.S. and coalition forces throughout Afghanistan.
